BALLOT CLOSING SOON!

BID BALLOT PAPERS

Did you receive your yellow voting form in the post (from 21st March). You now have less than two weeks to return them via the addressed envelope provided – the process is explained in the accompanying information, however it is a fairly straightforward YES or NO for individual businesses eligible to vote. Thereafter votes will be counted up and a simple majority (by number of businesses and by rateable value) will enable the BID to start to work on behalf of local businesses, improving Clevedon in terms of:
  • marketing
  • connectivity
  • enhancement.

REPLACEMENT BALLOT PAPERS

If you are eligible to vote (if you are unsure please do get in touch with us) but have not received or misplaced ballot papers you may request replacements by applying to the ballot holder (ERS) for a replacement paper in writing as follows:

a) A letter in hardcopy form along with the appropriate ‘evidence of identity’.

b) A scan of both the letter and the ‘evidence of identity’ attached to an email to be sent to  bids@electoralreform.co.uk

c) A fax copy of both the letter and the ‘evidence of identity’.

The letter should be addressed to The Independent Scrutineer, The Election Centre, 33 Clarendon Road, London N8 0NW. Alternatively you can email bids@electoralreform.co.uk. The letter must be signed by the Eligible Voter and evidence of the voter’s identity must be provided in the form of one of the following:

a) Signed Letterhead for the appropriate company

b) A signed photocopy of the National Non-Domestic Rating Bill for the hereditament

c) A signed photocopy of an item of personal ID such as a Passport or Driving Licence.

Please do not send original copies of ID or Bills.

THE BID BUSINESS PLAN

The Clevedon BID Proposal and Business Plan aims to raise over £500,000 for investment in the main shopping, leisure and office areas of the town to:

  • Market and promote Clevedon
  • Connect the different parts of Clevedon
  • Enhance Clevedon

Inside (please lick to open) you will find all you need to know about our ideas for the next five years (based on consultation with you – the local business community), how the BID will be run and how to become involved. The BID is only possible if a majority of businesses vote YES in the ballot which will ensure funding to deliver these BID projects.

BID MEETINGS

There are no further open meetings or drop in sessions regarding the BID Ballot now. However the BID Steering Group meet once a month – please get in touch if you are a Clevedon BID owner or manager and wish to attend and become a member of the BID Steering Group or a director of Clevedon BID Ltd.

We hope you are as positive as us about the prospects for the Clevedon BID and will help support the successful future of the town by voting YES in the ballot. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact George Grace (07801790645, george@clevedonbid.com) to discuss matters or arrange for a meeting.

Thank you.
